In this hands-on workshop you will explore essential watercolor techniques such as wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry, and dry brush, and create your own painting to take home. Beginners are welcome. Participants bring their own supplies: small (5ml) tubes of alizarin crimson, ultramarine blue, and quinacridone gold (Daniel Smith or Winsor & Newton), a New York Central cold press 140 lb watercolor block, and a set of Fuumuui synthetic watercolor brushes (available on Amazon). Also bring a water container and a towel or paper towel.

This meet-up will explore how we can take beautiful portraits using natural light and backgrounds. We will explore how to recognise flattering light and how to manipulate it whilst shooting in a less controlled environment than a studio. We will explore how we can work collaboratively with our subject to achieve a portrait that captures their personality and style. We will also look at posing and setting your subject at ease. Technical learning points will include accurate focusing and metering for skin tones. Note Please bring a family member or a friend as a model.
