Come along to our meetups to improve your drawing in a relaxed and social atmosphere and under the guidance of a professional instructor. Complete beginners to experienced artists all welcome.

Our 2 hour meetups are held in a different location each time, usually outdoors.

Bring your own materials. If you are a complete beginner all you need to start drawing pad and some pencils, which can be easily obtained online or from your nearest art supplies store.

Who can attend? Open to all skill levels, from beginners to experienced artists. The instructor is there to help everyone.

Patricia Maus Benit-Laing is a New Orleans 2013based artist and educator whose work explores atmosphere, memory, and the quiet emotional weight of everyday life. With a background in fine arts, gifted education, and arts programming, she has spent years helping students of all ages build confidence through observation, experimentation, and creative inquiry. Her teaching style is approachable, encouraging, and rooted in the belief that drawing is a skill anyone can develop with patience and practice.
In her beginning drawing classes for the New Orleans Drawing Meetups, Patricia focuses on helping students slow down, truly see what is in front of them, and enjoy the process of making art without intimidation. Whether someone is picking up a pencil for the first time or returning to drawing after many years, her classes create a welcoming space for curiosity, growth, and creative connection.
